How do you change the serpentine belt on 2001 mitsubishi mirage?

Get a marking pen and draw the diagram of the belt on its pulleys and idlers on the underside of the hood so you have it to show you how to put the new belt back on. Find the tensioner and push it loose with a long wrench that fits it and take the belt off. Put the belt back on the accessory pulleys, then the idlers and release tension to hold it in place. Make sure the belt is fully on every pulley so it doesn't jump off while you're driving. Look in Chiltons Auto Repair manual to see where everything is that you need to work with.

you need a long wrench to put on the tension pulley and push it until the belt is loose enough to slip off then make sure when you are putting it back on that you run the belt exactly right or it won't work there should be a diagram to show you how to run the belt
