I have 114k on my car. It has a V6 Flex fuel engine. Would there be any forseen problems changing that. I called one shop and they said they would have to look at it because of some design and the engine mounts making the replacement difficult. Is he full a BS or what can I really expect price wise?

it's very possible that the motor mount has to be removed to replace the belt as I had to on my grand am with a V6, call the ford dealer and ask the parts man if it has to be removed or not on your model to be sure, some cars are a real bear to change that belt.

on some vehicles(gm)you do have to remove front motor mount to replace serp belt,i don't think so on your ford that shop should have a labor guide or information on hand that would tell them what is involved in removing your belt,try auto zone.com they sometimes give installation information.
